The next step up in the product line up is the GMR535-2 with the same features as the GMR1235-2 but with a five mile transmitting range.  This model is not available at Uniden Direct.  GMR1038-2 has a ten mile range and more features like ninety nine privacy codes, five call tones, roger beep, hands free operation (VOX) and a headset jack.

Another unit in the Uniden walkie talkie line up is the GMR1838-2CK.  They have an eighteen mile range and come with their own charging cradle and two NiMH batteries.  These models also have a backlit LCD display and all of the features that the GMR1038-2 have.  The top of the line model from Uniden is the GMR2889-2CK with an amazing twenty eight mile range.  The disclaimer says that range varies with the terrain.  These models include a charging cradle with two NiMH batteries, and the standard twenty two channels.  Other features included are the ability to direct call an individual in your group instead of everyone, auto channel change – changes everyone in the group to a new channel to avoid interference, a PowerBoost key, 285 privacy settings, over 6,270 possible channel settings, NOAA weather channels – all for only $69.99 for the pair at Uniden Direct.  It is very affordable to buy a Uniden walkie talkie.
